This is an End-Of-Course tested subject in the state of Arkansas. It is the goal of the No Child Left Behind Act that every student perform in the proficient or advanced scoring range on all EOC exams. We are working hard to achieve this goal; however, I will need continual parental support in order to do so. Please review the frameworks from our state and make sure your child completes all assignments for this course to ensure that he or she has learned the material and concepts related to every Arkansas Biology framework. I have included a link to some sample test items from a released item booklet from the spring 2011 testing session. These items will not appear on the test again, but will give you and your child an idea of how the items are set up and written on the actual exam. The Biology EOC exam is administered in April each school year. It is imperative that your child be at school and in bioogy class every day of the school year to learn all of the material being tested. Typically, test results have shown that students with poor school attendance do not reach the proficient level on EOC exams. The same results are indicated each year by those students who attend school but do not pay attention in class and do not complete class assignments. Please help your child be a proficient or an advanced EOC tester by being an involved parent in his or her education.
